Questions
Fair things to ask.
Do I need to know the subject to teach the lesson?
No — that's the point. Every question comes with what to listen for, and the field guide names what's actually there and how to recognise it. You can teach a creek you've never studied.
What if we go to the same park every week?
Good. HomeRoam remembers what you covered there and deliberately writes somewhere new next time — a different corner, a different season, a harder question. It also shows which subjects you've already done at that place.
Does it work where there's no cell service?
Any lesson you've opened stays on your phone and opens again without a signal. Writing a brand-new lesson needs a connection, so it's worth generating before you leave the driveway.
Can I change what it wrote?
All of it. Every objective, question, answer and activity is editable — tap and rewrite. Your edits are what get printed and shared.
Will this help with our state's reporting?
Each lesson records the subject credited and suggested hours, and completed lessons tally by subject in the Field Log. Requirements differ by state, so check what yours asks for — HomeRoam keeps the log, it doesn't certify compliance.
What ages is it for?
Pre-K through twelfth grade. Younger bands assume a child who can't read yet — everything is spoken by you, with sensory activities and no abstract questions.
