Terms of Use
Last updated 31 July 2026
These terms cover your use of the HomeRoam app, made by Lanternfish Labs LLC. By using HomeRoam you agree to them.
What HomeRoam is
HomeRoam generates lesson plans for real-world places using an AI writing model. It is a planning aid for a parent or guardian who is supervising their own children. It is not a school, not a curriculum provider, and not a certifying body.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. You're responsible for your account and for the accuracy of what you enter about your household. One account is for one household.
Subscriptions, billing and renewal
- Each household can generate one lesson free. After that, generating new lessons requires a subscription. Lessons you already have remain readable either way.
- HomeRoam Plus is offered at $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year. Prices shown in the app for your region are authoritative.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Refunds are governed by Apple's policies; we cannot issue refunds directly, though we're glad to help you request one.
Lessons are generated — check them
Lessons are written by an AI model and may contain mistakes, including about a specific place. You are responsible for reviewing a lesson before using it with your children, and for judging whether an activity is safe and suitable for your family, the place, the weather and the day. Every part of a lesson is editable so you can correct anything before you go.
Safety and supervision
HomeRoam suggests visiting real places, including outdoor ones with water, terrain, wildlife, traffic and livestock. You are solely responsible for supervising your children, obeying posted rules, respecting private property and access requirements, and deciding what is safe. Safety notes in a lesson are a prompt to think, never a substitute for your own judgement.
Records and reporting
HomeRoam records subjects and suggested hours to help you keep your own log. Homeschool requirements vary by state and country and change over time. HomeRoam does not certify compliance with any legal requirement, and you remain responsible for meeting whatever your jurisdiction asks of you.
Place information
Details about places come partly from third-party sources and may be out of date. Always check opening hours, fees, closures and access before travelling.
Acceptable use
- Use HomeRoam for your own household's education, not for resale or redistribution of generated lessons as a commercial product.
- Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Don't use the service unlawfully or to harm anyone.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you write — your edits, your notes, your records. You grant us only the permission needed to store it and show it back to you. Lessons generated for your household are yours to use, print and share within your family.
Availability
We aim to keep HomeRoam running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may discontinue the service; if we do, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your records.
Disclaimers and liability
HomeRoam is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Lanternfish Labs LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts may not apply to you.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for HomeRoam. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Ending your use
You can stop using HomeRoam and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions: hello@homeroam.app.
